Our site is organized into Channel pages:
- The Left Navigation Panel:
- UPPER CASE text links to Channel pages.
- Mixed Case text links to a Full Article or to another web sites.
- Channel Pages: Each Channel page contains content in the Abstracts and Full-Texts of Articles.
- An Abstract is usually the first paragraph or a few paragraphs of an Article.
- Full-Text contains the entire Article content.
Channel Index: Each Channel has a bulleted link-index at the top of the page.
- A Red Bullet indicates recently added content or changed content.
- Red Texts indicate content with imminent content. This usually concerns an event that is about to occur within the next week.
- The
symbol following a link indicates a .PDF file.
- The
symbol following a link indicates another website.
Abstracts:
- Abstract Titles change color on mouse-over. The title is a link to the Full-Text of the Article.
- Abstracts are also followed by an icon that link to the Full-Text. Linking to the Full-Text allows you to easily view or print that one Article.
indicates that the Abstract is the Full-Text of the Article.
indicates that there is more content in the Full-Text.
indicates that there is a Form in the Full-Text.
Link actions: All underlined texts are links.
- Mail links and links to other sites open in new windows (or tab, depending on your browser).
- All Channel Page links and Full-Text links open in the same window or tab (depending on your browser settings).
RSS Feeds:
Any Channel Page may be added to your RSS news reader. - Click the UPPER CASE Channel page link. Copy the URL; and paste it into your RSS program's link list. append “/_rss”.
- Example: http://www.saint-michaels.org/announcements/_rss is the RSS link for the ANNOUNCEMENTS channel, which has the address, http://www.saint-michaels.org/announcements .
We test our site with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Other browsers may also work. We generally use san-sarif fonts. If you need to change font size, I recommend Firefox for both PCs and MACs. You can change fonts larger or smaller with a single keystroke and repeat for more change. This feature was also added toInternet Explorer 8.
We use no pop-ups but we do use inline frames to add content from selected external sites.
Links to our Member Base Site: We include some gadgets to allow guest access to our secure site calendars, volunteer postings, etc. Guest access is limited. For greater access members must log in to the secure site.
