Welcome to St. Michael's website!  Feel free to browse.

Our site is organized into Channel pages and Article pages.

  • Channel Pages:
    • Clicking any page header graphic always returns you to the WELCOME channel page.
    • You may go to any Channel page by clicking the Channel Name on the main menu bar or the pull-down sub-menus.
    • Clicking one of the Bread Crumbs text near the top of any page walks you back through the channel pages named.  For example, The Bread Crumbs at the top of this page are: "WELCOME > MINISTRY > ELECTRONIC MINISTRY".  Clicking a word (or words) will take you to that Channel page.
    • Each Channel page contains one or more Articles.
    • Each Article may be shown on the Channel page as a Title and either an Abstract or a Body.
      • An Abstract is a few words to give the flavor of the full Body.
      • Abstract Titles change color on mouse-over.  The Abstract Title is a link to the Article page which shows the Body.
      • The Abstract Image at the right of the Abstract is also a link to the Article page.
      • Abstracts are followed by the Full Text icon (Full Story) which also links to an Article page.
    • The Body may be displayed on a Channel page and contains the entire Article content.
      • Body Titles do not change color and are not links.
      • The Body is not followed by a Full Text icon.
      • The Image at the right of the Body is not a link unless the text in the Body says it is.
      • Occasionally the Body is followed by the Full Text icon (Full Story) which links to a Channel page.
  • Article Pages:
    • Article pages may be linked from:
      • A Channel page by clicking an Abstract Title, Full Text icons, or an Abstract Image. or
      • A link on another Article page.
      • A link in an email sent by someone else.
    • An Article page always displays the Title and full Body of an Article.
    • An Article page may also display one or more of the following:  Author, Source, Image and associated links lists.
    • Article pages allow you to easily view or print the full Article or email it to a friend.

Link actions: (Except for the menu and submenu items)

  • Text inks are in blue text which become underlined magenta and cause a change in cursor shape on mouse-over.
  • Image links cause a change in cursor shape on mouse-over.
  • All Channel Page links and Article Page links open in the same window or tab.
  • A symbol following a link indicates that the link is a PDF file.

  • Mail links and links to other sites open in a new window or tab.

RSS Feeds:

  • Realy Simple Syndication Any Channel Page may be added to your RSS news reader.
  • Click the Channel menu item.  Copy the URL and paste it into your RSS program's link list.  append “/_rss”.
  • Example: The WORSHIP channel, has the address, http://www.saint-michaels.org/worship.  The WORSHIP RSS channel link is http://www.saint-michaels.org/worship/_rss.

We test our site with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari.  Other browsers may also work.  We generally use san-sarif fonts.  If you need to change font size, I recommend Firefox for both PCs and MACs.  You can change fonts larger or smaller with a single keystroke and repeat for more change.  There is now a similar feature added to Internet Explorer version 8.

We use limited pop-ups but do use inline frames to add content from selected external sites.  Please set your browser to allow Pop-ups and Inline Frames from this site.

Links to our Ministry Base site:  We include some gadgets to allow guest access to our calendars, volunteer postings, event listings, etc.  Of course, guest access is limited.  For greater access members may login to the Ministry Base .

Browse and enjoy:  Then please, come, worship with us!
