Our site is organized into Channel pages and Article pages.
- Channel Pages:
- Clicking any page header graphic always returns you to the WELCOME channel page.
- You may go to any Channel Page by clicking the Channel Name (words in ALL CAPS) in menus, articles and the Site Map.
- Clicking one of the Bread Crumbs text near the top of any page walks you back through higher level channel pages. For example, The Bread Crumbs for this article are: "WELCOME (top level) > MINISTRY (second level) > COMMUNICATIONS (third level)". Clicking a channel link will take you to that channel page.
- Each Channel page contains one or more Articles.
- Each Article may be shown on the Channel page as a Title and either an Abstract or a Body.
- An Abstract is a few words to give the flavor of the full Body.
- Abstract Titles become blue underlined text on mouse-over. The Abstract Title is a link to the Article page which shows the full Body.
- The Abstract Image at the right of the Abstract and the Full Text icon (

) are also links to the Article body.
- The Body may be displayed on a Channel page and contains the entire Article content.
- Body Titles do not change color and are not links.
- The Body is not followed by a Full Text icon.
- The Image at the right of the Body is not a link unless the text in the Body says it is.
- Occasionally the Body is followed by the Full Text icon (

) which links to a Channel page.
- Article Pages:
- Article pages may be linked from:
- A Channel page by clicking an Abstract Title, Full Text icons, or an Abstract Image. or
- A link on another Article page.
- A title on the site map or search page.
- A link in an email sent by someone else.
- An Article page always displays the Title and full Body of an Article.
- An Article page may also display one or more of the following: Author, Source, Image and associated links lists.
- Article pages allow you to easily view or print the full Article or email it to a friend.
Link actions: (Except for the menu and sub-menu items)
- Text inks are in red text which become underlined blue and cause a change in cursor shape on mouse-over.
- Image links cause a change in cursor shape on mouse-over.
- All Channel Page links and Article Page links open in the same window or tab.
- A
symbol following a link indicates that the link is a PDF file which opens in a new window or tab.
- A
symbol following a link indicates that it is on another website which opens in a new window or tab
- Mail links open in a new window or tab.
RSS Feeds:
Any Channel Page may be added to your RSS news reader.
- Click the Channel menu item. Copy the URL and paste it into your RSS program's link list. append “/_rss”.
- Example: The WORSHIP channel, has the address, http://www.saint-michaels.org/worship. The WORSHIP RSS channel link is http://www.saint-michaels.org/worship/_rss.
We test our site with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari. Other browsers may also work. We generally use san-sarif fonts for ease of reading and lower ink & toner use when printing. If you need to change font size, the later versions of these browsers allow you to change to larger or smaller fonts with a single keystroke and repeat for more change.
We use limited pop-ups and use inline frames to add content from selected external sites. Please allow your browser to allow Pop-ups and Inline Frames from this site.
