Membership
There are several ways to join St. Michael's. If you are already an Episcopalian, contact the Parish Office to initiate a membership transfer from your current church. We can also initiate a transfer from some other denominations. Others may join a Catechumenate class.

Christian Formation
St. Michael's approaches education as an intentional, relational and life-long process - the responsibility of the individual, the family, and the church. In the endeavor to know, understand, live and witness our faith, we offer people of all ages bible studies, support groups and spiritual development groups. Classes meet on Sunday and throughout the week. Check our Events List (or Calendar) for locations and times.
Training is required for all persons working with children or youth, for the Vestry and for leaders of all committees or mission groups.
Children and Youth
Our children, from the first contact with a Nursery Caregiver, through the time they reach adulthood are learning from those around them. The Christian Formation Committee, the caregivers, instructors, counselors, and others who make contact with our children and youth strive to provide an age appropriate activities, guidance and environment so they may develop into adult Christians with the knowledge and character to face challenges of the future church.

Youth
Building on the strength of our Godly Play program, and adding the “Theological Reflection” model from EfM to explore issues and stories more deeply, we offer a program that is appealing to our middle school and high school students.
Youth Sunday Gathering meets most Sundays at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Youth Room (in the Undercroft).

Adults
St. Michael's offers opportunities for adults to explore holy scriptures, current events and spirituality in small groups. We offers these classes on several days of the week. Explore and strengthen your faith. For more information or to join one of these groups contact the parish office.

Education for Ministry
Education for Ministry (EfM) is a structured, four-year course offered through the School of Theology at Sewanee, The University of the South for those who wish to participate in an in-depth theological education course with a certified mentor. Course content includes the Old Testament, New Testament, Christian Passages and Theological Choices. While the academic material is substantial, the focus is on seeing one’s life as ministry and reflecting on that ministry. Programs begin each fall.
Sunday Evening Book Study
This group meets each Sunday evening to discuss books on various topics, selecting about one book per season. For its next set of readings, the group has selected The Greatest Prayer: Rediscovering the Revolutionary Message of the Lord’s Prayer by John Dominic Crossan. We will begin discussion of this book on January 15, 2012 at 7 PM in the E.F.M. Room. All are welcome. If you have questions please call Clint Collins, 269-5246.
