Welcome to St. Michael's Website!
Feel free to browse and get a feel of our site.
Getting around our site
Clicking the page heading graphic will always bring you to the Welcome page.
Each Channel page contain article abstracts.
- Abstract titles change color on mouse-over and link to the full article.
- The “
” link symbol at the end of the article will also take you to the full article.
- All UPPER CASE texts in the navigation section are links to Channel pages.
- All underlined texts anywhere are links.
Each Channel page may be added to your RSS reader so that you receive notification when anything on that page is added or updated. The link is the normal link for the page followed by "/_rss". For example, the link for the ANNOUNCEMENTS channel is http://www.saint-michaels.org/announcements/_rss.
Link actions:
The following links open in new (or separate) windows (or tabs) in most browsers.
- Mailto links open in your mail program; If your default is browser based this opens a new window.
- URLs to other web sites.
All other URLs within this site or our secure site open in the same window. (If they don't, please use the feedback page!)
Links to our Secure (Members Only) Site
We do include some guest in-line frames that access our secure site calendars, volunteer postings, etc. Guest access is limited. For greater access members must login.
To receive a member login name and password, we must first have your email address on file. To file your email address you must join the church or have another active relationship with the parish.
About the Website
The software system we use for managing our system is tested with Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 6, and Safari 2. Other browsers are not tested, but may work.
This site does not employ pop-ups except for Amazon.com title links. The site works just fine if you have popups blocked.
For your convenience we generally use 16 point or largeer san-sarif fonts. (By-lines and article source references are slightly smaller.)
For those who need to change font size from our defaults, I recommend using the Firefox bowser; it works on PCs and MACs and you can change all fonts larger or smaller with a single keystroke. Repeat the keystroke for a more change.
If your browser is set up to support cascading stylesheets, most of our default styles may be adjusted using class names author, body, content, fullabstract, heading, leftmenu, .leftmenutext source, table and title.
Browse and Enjoy. Then, please come worship with us!
