wondrous encounters
Wednesdays at 11:30 am
Join us as Mtr. Margaret leads us in a reading of Wondrous Encounters: Scriptures for Lent by Richard Rohr. The Meditations are short and profound, inviting readers into a deeper encounter with the message of Lent. You can find the book online at the Center for Action and Contemplation or other online retailers. You may also attend without the book! |
Pilgrimage of Life and Death
March 9: The Story of My Life
Join with us as we gather and prayerfully reflect on the decades of our lives - where did we experience God, how have we changed, how have we discovered who we are, and where would we like to journey next. Mtr. Laurie will use a model of the Prayer of St. Ignatius in this prayerful work. March 16: Grief Katherine Bentsen, MSW, LCSW will speak on grief - what it is, what it's not, how we can welcome its appearance in our lives and how we can be with others in their grief. March 23: Planning for the End of Life Join us as we talk about the physical changes that happen when we are dying, including a conversation with a hospice worker on end of life care and the decisions we can make now to ensure peace and comfort for us and those we love in this time. Robert Hoglund will also speak on legal issues for end of life planning March 30: Funeral Practices Tonight's conversation will center around planning for a funeral from the perspective of a funeral home, including options with plenty of time for questions April 6: The Story of Death As we end our time together, we'll respond to any questions that we have, including how to talk to children about death, what support groups are available, and funeral planning for a church service. |
